Greg Edwards and then Cole Bruce drove to victories Saturday night in the twin Late Model 50-lap features at Langley Speedway in Hampton.
Edwards, the points leader, is on course for his eighth Langley Late Model yearly championship, which would break the record he shares with Phil Warren.
Edwards won the opener by 1.202 seconds over Ryan Matthews, while Woody Howard (1.253 behind) and Danny Edwards (1.554 behind) followed closely in a race that took more than 14:07. Howard entered the night 28 points behind Greg Edwards as his closest pursuer.
All of the drivers’ fastest laps ranged between 16 and 17 seconds as Greg won for the third time this year.
Bruce, who was sixth among 13 drivers in the first race, grabbed the checkered flag in the encore by 695-thousandths of a second over Danny Edwards, Greg’s brother.
Danny’s son Donovan Edwards was a distant third, 4.105 behind Bruce, and Greg Edwards took fourth in a race that took more than 20:47. It was the second triumph of the year for Bruce, who entered the night fourth in points.
In other divisions:
Super Street: Sammy Gaita, who took the green flag with a 27-point lead, extended it with his series-leading sixth triumph of 2025.
He won a 40-lap clash in more than 16:07, finishing 1.878 seconds ahead of Dale Nichols, the runner-up in a field of 11. Jacob Wood placed third, 2.248 behind Gaita.
Enduro: Results are to be announced.
Grand Stock: A 40-lap race had just four drivers, and Paul Lubno won it in just more than 21:12 to extend his points lead. He coasted past Ryan Hutchens by 5.721 seconds for his fifth victory of the year.
Nate Lundin took third, 6.431 off the lead.
UCAR: Jeremy Jones won for the first time this season, registering a 25-lap victory. He edged Jason Aukland by 338-thousandths of a second in a race that lasted more than 13:04.
Points leader Thomas Fontaine, a five-time victor this year, placed third, 1.060 seconds behind Jones. Aukland began the evening in the runner-up spot in points, while Jones started it eighth.
Pro Six: Only three drivers competed for 25 laps, and Matt Dail captured his fourth victory of the year in barely more than 7 1/2 minutes.
