Six drivers gained yearly division titles with minimal drama Saturday in the first of two championship nights at Langley Speedway in Hampton. Chris Bechtel and Tommy Jackson enjoyed the extra thrill of winning the year’s final race, and the other 2025 champions finished in Saturday’s top five.
Limited Late Model: Ayden Millette, who began the night ahead by 18 points and owning six victories, was the runner-up in the race that completed his title run.
Saturday’s winner, Jacob Derrick, was a distant second in points. He outpaced Millette by 391-thousandths of a second in a 14-driver race that took just more than 34 1/2 minutes, and Brian Rundstrom Jr. was third, 1.865 off the lead. It was Derrick’s third win of the year.
Super Street: Saturday’s third-place finisher in a 40-lap race that took just more than 16 minutes, Sammy Gaita, already had wrapped up the championship by taking the green flag with a 30-point lead that he built via six victories this year.
Chris Spangler registered his second victory of 2025, winning by 0.419 of a second over Dale Nichols and by 0.649 over Spangler.
Super Truck: Bechtel, who had locked the title by amassing a 19-point lead, further extended it with a comfortable 25-lap victory that lasted just more than eight minutes.
In a field of eight competitors, he won by 1.667 seconds over Chris McEvoy and by 7.234 over third-place Chase McAdams for his fifth checkered flag of the year.
Enduro: Zac Herdlein began the evening ahead by 11 points. His fifth-place finish among 16 drivers in a 30-lap race was more than enough to cement the championship, though Alex Floroff, who was second in points, earned his third victory of the season.
Chris Myers was second and Chris Kane third in the race.
Legends: The year belonged to Jackson, who took a 14-point lead into a 14-driver finale and comfortably took his fifth checkered flag. The race took just more than 10:43.
Runner-up Cody Carlton was 2.234 seconds behind, and Bryson Nichols was third, 4.713 off the lead.
Bandolero: Landon Burbage had driven to a 24-point lead, sealing the championship with nine victories in the first 10 races.
Points runner-up Nevaeh Edwards overcame Jase Rogers by 750-thousandths of a second for her first victory of the year.
Burbage was third, 3.328 off the lead, in a six-driver race that took just more than 9:04.
Next Saturday, the other championships will be awarded: Late Model, Modified, Grand Stock, UCAR and Pro Six. Poquoson’s Greg Edwards, who has a 30-point lead on second-place Woody Howard, officially will gain his eighth Langley Late Model championship, breaking the record he shares with Phil Warren.
