Warwick 10, #2 Hampton 5, 12 innings

Ian Mayer pitched 7 1/3 Innings of relief to hand the Crabbers their first defeat of the year, with three hits and zero runs given up. Josh Jones started and pitched 4 1/3 innings, giving up five hits and five runs. Warwick totaled 12 hits, with Joe Lessord, Connor Smith, Michael Bartron and Aydin Knapp all getting two. L.J. Burnette tallied four RBIs.

#3 Maury 4, #10 Landstown 3

Landon Strauss earned his first varsity win on the mound for the Commodores.

#7 Cox 12, Tallwood 3

WP: Hank Brown (5-0); LP: Bryce Newell

Brown, James Godfrey and MJ Lemke combined to strike out 15 batters. Conner Worth and Ben Kablach each hit a home run for the Falcons, and Ethan Rayno added four hits.

#12 Grafton 9, Jamestown 3

Colton Sandiford logged two runs, a double and an RBI for the Clippers. VJ Jackson added two RBIs.

#15 Western Branch 15, King’s Fork 0

The Bruins finished the regular season at 16-5. Logan Adams, Wilson Tone and Markel Smith each tallied two RBIs.

Bay Rivers District

Smithfield 3, York 1

WP: Walton Bondurant; LP: Will Hunt

Colton Bingham’s double in the fifth inning drove in two runs to give the Packers the lead. Bondurant pitched four scoreless innings for the win. Hunt pitched six innings for the Falcons and allowed only three hits.

Non-district

Kecoughtan 9, Churchland 3

WP: Kyle Kauffman; LP: O’Riyan Mosier

The Warriors scored all nine of their runs in the sixth and seventh innings. Henry Hampton went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs. Kauffman struck out five in three relief innings and earned the win.

Bailey Blevin combined with Jensyn Koonce for the win. Gabbie Kleier finished with two hits, five RBIs and a three-run home run for the Wildcats.

#12 First Colonial 9, Princess Anne 1

WP: Cori Evans

Evans and Chloe Outland combined to strike out seven. Lucy Domozick went 2 for 3 with four RBIs for the Patriots, and MJ Haesler went 3 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs.

#13 Granby 13, Churchland 3

WP: Kyrsten Wells (7-2)

Anwynn Williams went 4 for 4, and Dekya Harris went 3 for 3 with three RBIs to lead the Comets in their win.

Bay Rivers District

Grafton 8, Jamestown 3

WP: Mackenzie Kirchner; LP: Tenley Medlin

Hailey Lewis went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs for the Clippers. Lexi Henley went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, and Gianna Mulvihill went 2 for 3. The Eagles’ Zoe Mayes scored twice.

Trevor Myers scored the first goal of the game in the 37th minute, with an assist by Andy Mbandu. Myers later assisted Jeremy Walker on the final goal. Jackson Young also added a goal for the Packers with an assist by Brody Dulin.

Cristopher de la Cruz scored the winning goal for the Stallions.

Boys tennis

Class 6 Region A individual tournament

Western Branch freshman Vedant Bhende earned his way to the singles final, overcoming longtime Landstown star Nolan Macedo 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 in a semifinal on the Bruins’ courts. But because of a conflict with a U.S. Tennis Association event this weekend, Bhende defaulted the final to top-seeded Grant Kroodsma, a James Madison signee. In doubles, the Landstown team of Macedo and Ollie Koenig joined three Richmond-area pairs in the semifinals.

Class 3 Region A final

Tabb 5, Grafton 2

The host Tigers followed their Bay Rivers District title by beating the Clippers. John Sunstone and Jack Hiotellis won 6-2, 6-0 Friday at No. 1 doubles for the clincher in a match that was suspended Thursday by rain. Both teams will go to the state quarterfinals.

Non-district

Warhill 5, Gloucester 0

Marcus Demartine, George Drakes, Henry Morris, Philip Race and Will Coaxes all earned singles wins for the Lions.
