Top-seeded Kellam defeated the Falcons to win their second consecutive Class 5 Region A championship. Elijah Lamb and Colt Goodwin each collected hat tricks for the Knights. Sophomore Jake Lyons went 10 for 14 in faceoffs to shift momentum.

Danny Cox put the Packers in the lead with a goal in the 47th minute. Quincy Williams also scored with an assist by Brody Dulin. This is the sixth year in a row that Smithfield has advanced to the state tournament.

The Eagles will meet No. 4 Smithfield in the Class 4 Region A finals on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Ethan Schneider secured the victory for the Hawks with a 6-4,7-6 (7-4) win at No. 5, hitting well-placed lobs on the final two points to defeat Cox’s Daniel Ureeta. Will Katchmark (2), Parker Dudley (3), Spencer Dudley (4) and Graham Hollon (6) joined Schneider with singles wins. No. 1 Sam Dixon won for the Falcons.
No. 2 Ocean Lakes 5, No. 6 Great Bridge 0
Cole Peterson clinched the team win and a state berth with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles. The Dolphins will play Hickory at 2 p.m. Tuesday on First Colonial’s courts for the region title.
